Current account

A WIB current account allows you to deposit or withdraw funds on demand.

You can open a personal account at WIB in NAF, US$, and Euro currency. With a current account at WIB you're able to keep real-time watch on your funds with Online Banking.

In addition, by getting a WIB Bankomatiko Smartcard linked to your account you're able to make electronic purchases globaly. Benefit from a WIB account, with ATM all around the island, and extensive services!

Administration & Reconciliation

The actual processing of updating new accounts to existing accounts, closing of accounts stop-payments handled in this department. Reconciliation is done to ensure that entries which have been submitted and processed correctly. All errors associated with incorrect entries, posting errors due to currency differences etc. are corrected.

Claims

Disputes or complaints on accounts, once taken by Customer Services, are handled in the form of a claim. Quite often investigations are needed to clarify a particular dispute which a client may have on his/her account. The responsibility of the claim division of the Current Accounts department is to ensure that all disputes and complaints are handled in an efficient and satisfactory manner.

Open a Current Account (Resident)

Visit your preferred WIB branch contact us at 546 2942 for the following:

  • Copy of passport of all signing authorities on said account and also complete address information of all.
  • Latest utility bill(s). In the event that the utility bill is in the name of the land lord which you are renting from, provide the lease / rental agreement with a copy of the landlord's ID and the utility bill in the landlord's name. Alternatively a registration form at the Census can be provided as proof of address.
  • At least one acceptable bank reference on the accountholder(s) and authorized signatories.
  • Reference letter from employer (job letter) / recent salary slip.
  • Where it concerns new employees at a company, who are unable to furnish a salary slip, written confirmation of employment by that company is required.

Open a Current Account (Non-Resident)

You can contact us for an appointment, and come to one of our main branches with the following:

  • Copy of passport of all signing authorities on said account and also complete address information of all.
  • Two acceptable bank references on the accountholder(s) / authorized signatories.
  • Reference letter from Employer (job Letter) / recent salary slip.
  • Where the Customer is an EU resident, then the document required is a tax certificate, issued in the customer's country of residence, showing the customer's name and address, tax identification number, country of residence, birth date and place of birth.
